Tonal Value

Facebook/text messages/written text won't do as Allah kurniakan kita special nikmat in our tone/tonal in our words we use in expressing concern, hope, kecewa, excited, delighted, suggestion, which all the written stuffs cannot represent. but again Allah said 'read' and his Guidance were written in the Book, so macamana? as a matter of fact, Quran that has been passed down to us, is speech, not written words. therefore it has its own tone and it is understood by the Arab-speaking at that time. the quality of the language is soo high at that time that it is possible to transfer the tone of the speech into written text.

Possible, when u read quran it has certain tone yang Allah nak sampaikan through His ayah. for example, when He says, 'kalla saya'lamun' كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ (an-Naba':4) the Arab's attention immediately caught because of the word 'kalla', 'Sekali-kali tidak; kelak mereka akan mengetahui'. that 'kalla/sekali2 tidak' tu, die macam, bile orang die bunuh orang lain, or esok ade deadline tapi die tak siapkan kerja lagi, die cakap, 'no, for real i'm going to get into trouble', orang tu tak maksudkan 'no' as no, tapi die maksudkan he's really going to be in trouble. so, kalla tu kire mcm 'no' tu la. for orang Arab at that time, they understood the tone or nuance of the ayat. the nuance is in the use of verbs, the wordings, the susunan, etc.

Lagi satu contoh maybe, if u read surah Taha, ada ayat yg cerita pasal Nabi Musa bjumpe Allah, at first Allah cakap, 'ya musa, Aku ini Tuhanmu, tanggalkanlah kasutmu, sungguh kamu di lembah yg suci, Tuwa.' then dah lame skit, Allah ckp, 'apa yang di tangan kananmu itu, musa?' what's the difference between those two? 1st, Allah sebut Musa dulu baru state ape yg die nak cakap n 2nd Allah tanya dulu baru sebut nama Musa, for us, maybe mcm biase je takde beza, tapi the 1st one tone die is actually harsh, very harsh, like when ur adik perempuan spills her drinks onto your bed, u yelled, 'Moonaaaaaaa, ape ko buat ni?' tu the 1st one, the 2nd one lembut, Allah berlembut dgn Musa sbb awal tu Nabi Musa dah jadi takut, so Allah berlembut pulak, 'apa yang ada dekat tgn kananmu Musa?' mcm mak kite tanye kite bile balik dari exam, 'mcmana exam hari ni, Man?' (u know, dengan nada penuh kasih sayang.) so, even the susunan whether subjek dulu or predicate dulu or vice versa does effect the tones. 

The Arabs during that time, diorang paham. sebab tu Umar boleh menangis bila dgr adik dia baca surah Taha, sebab tu even Abu Jahal and pembesar2 Quraisy lain dtg sneak up Nabi mengajar Quran malam2 dan even ada penyair yg hebat gila jatuh menyungkur sujud lepas terpegun dengar Nabi selesai baca surah an-Najm, because they understood the power of its literature, and we're missing out on it. so macamana? kalau rasa tak mampu nak kuasai bahasa Arab, jom dengar lectures on Quran, moga2 Allah buka pintu hati kita semua dan masukkan kite semua dalam jannah, amin.
